How to change a tire

Chelsea Milko
If you have a flat tire reduce speed slowly and pull over on a some what flat spot. Put four way flashers on and put a block behind diagonal tire to the one that is flat. It is important to read owners manual so you know where the spare tire, jack, and wrench is. The place where you put the jack varies for different types of vehicles.

1 Check owners manual for location of jack and wrench.

2 Put jack 3-6 inches away from tire then raise jack until it touches the axle.

3 Remove hub cap then loosen lug nuts but don't take nuts off.

4 Raise jack until tire is off the ground than take nuts off and take tire off.

5 Mount wheel onto studs and screw nuts on until snug and in a diagonal pattern.

6 Lower jack so the tire is on the ground then tighten lug nuts completely.

7 Take out and store it where it came from then take block from the opposite tire.

After, put the flat tire in trunk or back of cab and get it fixed and have someone check lug nuts so you know that they're tight enough. If they aren't tight enough your tire might fall off while driving.
