PERU, N.Y. -- State Police are investigating the death of a 19-month-old that died when a vehicle ran over him while backing out of a driveway.
The accident happened at about 7:30 Tuesday night. Clinton County Fire Control received a call from Frederick Hoffman III, 50, who said he had accidentally backed over his son in the driveway at his home on Robert Frost Way in Peru, N.Y.
Police said that Hoffman was backing his 2002 GMC Yukon out of his driveway and had stopped his vehicle when he believed that he had run over one of his children’s toys. Hoffman then pulled forward and discovered his son, Frederick Hoffman IV, face down in the driveway with head trauma. The child was pronounced dead at the scene by Clinton County Coroner David Donah.

If The guy checked his car before he got in he probly wouldnt of hit his son. He should of walked around his car to check tires and other thing he would of saw his son.

CHESTERFIELD, N.H. -- A Bedford woman was sent to the hospital after a two-car crash at the intersection of Routes 9 and 63 in Chesterfield, Wednesday.
Teresa Geib, 43, had to be extracted from her 2007 Honda Civic using the Jaws of Life. Both the front and back driver's side door had to be removed, according to Chesterfield Police Lt. Duane Chickering. Geib was transported to Cheshire Medical Center in Keene with injuries that were not life-threatening, Chickering said. According to Chickering, Geib was driving west on Route 9 with her husband Eric, when the car of George Idelkope, 54, of Chesterfield, heading north on Route 63 across Route 9, hit the driver's side of the Geib car, and eventually came to a stop down a bank 30 feet from the roadway. Neither Idelkope nor Eric Geib were hurt in the collision. "All parties were wearing seat belts," Chickering said. He also said due to the deployment of air bags in the Geib car, injuries were likely reduced. Responding to the scene were Chesterfield police, fire and rescue, Spofford Rescue and the Keene Fire Department. Traffic was slowed in both lanes of Route 9, but continued to move. Traffic along the end of Route 63 to the south of Route 9 was halted while the scene was cleaned up. Both cars were towed from the scene.

This crash might not have happened if the car with the stop sign made a safety stop at the intersection to better see where they were going.

NEWFANE -- No injuries were reported in a two-vehicle crash on Route 30 Monday.
A car driven by Alexa Caldwell, 18, of St. Andrews, Del., was attempting to make a left turn onto Upper River Road when a utility truck drove around to the right, according to Vermont State Police. A car following behind the utility truck, driven by Barbara Williams, 48, of Williamsville, struck Caldwell's car from behind.
All occupants in Caldwell's vehicle were wearing seat belts, while Williams was not, police said. Williams was found to be following too closely.
Two-car crash reported on I-91

If the woman would of used the four second following distance she might have been able to stop in time.
